GateWorld is live on the scene at Creation’s official Vancouver Stargate convention! For this very special episode of the podcast we assembled a panel of seven fans to talk about the convention itself, the ups and downs of fandom, the cast of Stargate Universe and more. We’ll also play you some new interview clips that are hot off the press, and say hi to some surprise guests who dropped in on us!
This was a hugely fun discussion, and we hope you enjoy hearing it. A very special thanks go to Lisa, Moriah, Wendy, Kiwi, and Chad for joining us! We’ll be back to our regular format with news, site features, and listener mail next week.

Next Episode: Perceptions of Sci-Fi Fans. We’ll continue our discussion of sci-fi fans and how we are perceived by others next week, including more with our special Vancouver fan panel! In many ways this will serve as “Part 2” to this week’s panel discussion, so be sure to check it out.
I liked the podcast, interesting hearing you all semi-live!
But I was kind of hoping for some detailed reports on what the guests said at their talks, will those be forthcoming?
One of the major complaints I heard about this con was that some of the questions that were asked were either rambling or inappropriate, and that fans were allowed to be inappropriate with the actors on stage. Evidently there were some people who were very embarassing to the fandom in general and offended their fellow con-goers with their behavior. If Creation would screen the questions ahead of time, like some other cons, it would be a more pleasant environment for all.
Last comment – Loved hearing about how some of your panel enjoyed Joe Flanigan’s talks – he is an amazing man, and if there were ever a reason that I would actually go to one of these events, it would be to see him.
… So saddened and moved by Teryl’s comments about Don…
Love this podcast! Catching up with all podcasts now – and have only 10 left :(
Anyway, got so interested that I plan to come to the Vancouver one next year. Hope they are still good. Have been to a couple of Creation’s Star Trek conventions in London and sadly quality decreased… Always wanted to see Vancouver and the Stargate set. (I’m more of a gater than a trekker these days)
