Can you believe it’s been a decade since SG-1’s two big DVD adventures made their debut? Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum hit the DVD shelves in 2008, and now it’s time for us to ask the question: Do they still hold up 10 years later?
We’ll revisit these stories and the place they hold in the Stargate universe, along with some of our favorite moments and character beats. We will also talk about the morality of using a weapon like the Ark of Truth, and the big stakes of a story where a villain has figured out how to travel through time and reshape the galaxy to fit his whims.
Post your thoughts on these two movies — 10 years later — below in the comments!
We’re kicking off 2019 with a look forward: What will the new year bring to the Stargate franchise? What do you hope to see for our favorite sci-fi franchise … especially if a new story goes into production?

For me, ARK is the stronger movie in terms of storytelling, but I’ve never been a fan of Stargate’s time-jump stories as they usually involve a reset. On the other hand, CONTINUUM has Ba’al in that Tok’ra tunic, which always makes watching worthwhie. :D
