After an Ancient device gives Rodney superhuman powers, his enhanced brilliance is checked only by his impending death -- unless he can learn how to ascend.
ANALYSIS
Sheppard briefly mentions having spent six months with a group of ascension wannabes -- a reference to his time with an isolated community living inside a time dilation bubble a year earlier ("Epiphany"). It was here that he learned techniques for reaching (or attempting to) ascension to a higher plane.
Though six months passed for him, for the rest of the team on the outside it was only a few hours.
UNANSWERED QUESTIONS
Will Rodney experience any lasting effects from his exposure to the Ancient ascension device?
Will Rodney and his team be able to make use of any of the groundbreaking science he tried to record during his time of evolutionary advancement?
Will Atlantis (or Earth) conduct any further tests of the device, perhaps even with human subjects -- now that they know (in theory) how to reverse the process?
