Review by Nathan P. Butler
It's a short little issue that is meant as a quick throwaway tale for convention-goers, so that they can have something with a few of the characters portrayed by convention guest actors for them to sign. In that regard, it works well.Uhm, but ...
This whole computer virus story goes nowhere. We never see the end of it. Presumably it either infects the S.G.C., but is overcome, or it never gets into the S.G.C. computers. Either way, we don't hear the end of it. The story just kind of ends. Bad form, that. I'm all for Star Wars references in Stargate SG-1. Lord knows the last few seasons have had plenty of them. But, as we'll see, Jack's line here ("Never tell me the odds," as per Han Solo) is not the last blatant reference to Star Wars that Kuhoric will use this year, and the blatant nature of them either helps make us enjoy Jack's pop-culture-referencing sense of humor or groan at the forced dialogue, depending on one's enjoyment of that type of humor. To me, it seemed forced to hear it here, then again in Fall of Rome. So, a fair issue, but certainly nothing great. At least, though, it had more depth to it than the lackluster Convention Special released in 2003.
