Review by Nathan P. Butler
A bit faster of a read than Fall of Rome #1, this issue provides our first real introduction to the present day Mars, explains the background of the robotic Jaffa, and throws us a heck of a curve ball with Ulysses. It's what we might've expected from early Stargate SG-1 episodes, where we found mythology turning into truth with startling frequency.
I'm anxious to see if Ares will make an appearance to help smack down Mars/Phobos, but that's what we still have an issue left for. My guess, though, is that we'll get a nice, fast, pat ending that doesn't at all do justice to the originality of the story that has been built up over the two regular and one prequel issue thus far.
I guess with one issue to go, we'll see, won't we?
