GateWorld launches syndicated news feed
MONDAY - NOVEMBER 8, 2004
GateWorld has just made it easier than ever to get your fix of the latest news from the Stargate universe! With the launch of GateWorld News' syndicated news feed, Stargate fans can browse the latest news headlines at a glance for the first time ever.
The RSS / XML news feed works with news readers and similar applications, which collect news from your favorite sites and blogs and put them in one easy place for you to skim each day. Stand-alone news readers are becoming more and more popular, as are Web-based readers such as Bloglines.
For RSS beginners, Yahoo! also now has a way to add GateWorld News headlines to My Yahoo! Here's how:
1. Log in to My Yahoo! and click the "Choose Content" button.
2. Check the box next to "RSS Headlines (BETA)," then click the "Finished" button.
3. Scroll down to the new RSS Headlines section and enter this address in the field:
http://www.gateworld.net/news/rss_gateworld.xml
Then click "Search."
4. Make sure the box on the search results page is checked, and click the "Add" button. You're done! The latest GateWorld News headlines now appear on My Yahoo!
5. Click the "Edit" button next to the RSS Headlines header to further customize your news display. You can choose how many items to display, and even display a short description for each headline. Use the "Change Layout" button to move GateWorld News higher up on My Yahoo!
We have a blast bringing you the latest Stargate news every week. We hope this new addition to GateWorld makes it even easier to stay in-the-know! If you like the news feed, or have an idea about how we can do it better, let us know.
