Conan O'Brien notes Stargate cancellation

Saturday - September 9, 2006 | by Darren Sumner

Late Night with Conan O'Brien's Pierre Bernard is comfortable and furious! In the September 8 installment of "Pierre Bernard's Recliner of Rage" on the NBC late-night talk show, the graphic designer demanded that SCI FI executive vice president of programming Mark Stern reverse the show's cancellation, which was announced last month (story).

Bernard, who has gained notoriety among Stargate fans by representing the series on a major network show, noted that SCI FI has messed with its once successful formula of Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Battlestar Galactica on Friday nights. The two Stargate series were pushed back one hour this summer and left without a lead-in.

The critically-acclaimed Battlestar Galactica will premiere its third season on October 6, and will be paired with the second season of the new Doctor Who.
