Weir to make four appearances

Expect Dr. Elizabeth Weir to be back for four episodes total in Season Four of Stargate Atlantis, according to an exclusive interview with her portrayer, Torri Higginson.
Though four does not necessarily sum it up, according to Torri. "It kind of stretches it," she tells us. "Really two, but technically four ... the first one of that ("Adrift") I'm pretty much asleep through most of it. Some of my finest acting, let me tell you."
Weir took on an Asuran laser beam (and shards of glass) head-on in the Season Three finale, "First Strike." While some fans loved it, others feel the shot didn't sell. But no one can deny that it was intense. "I love harness work. I love that stuff. But there's no way in hell they would've let me do that one," says Torri.
"It was very dangerous and she [her stunt double] was amazing ... And it was so shocking. I saw her do it, because I was crouched behind, watching it when they shot it. And I just went 'No, I'm glad I didn't do that.' They never would've let me, ever, ever, ever. But after I saw it I had to admit that 'No, they're right never to let me. That I couldn't have done. It was very intense.'
"Adrift" picks up almost moments after the close of last season, with Weir -- and the rest of the Atlantis expedition -- in severe peril.
The character will be conscious in the second part of the opening arc -- "Lifeline" -- and will later return in the season in "This Mortal Coil." The episode filling her fourth appearance is not known.
Actor Rainbow Sun Francks ("Aiden Ford") appeared in four episodes of his last season, Season Two. He hasn't been seen since.
