Both SCI FI Channel and MGM have unveiled their teaser spots for next week's new episode of Stargate Atlantis, revealing the first look at a vicious new alien species introduced in the episode.
In "The Daedalus Variations," the team investigates when Earth's battle cruiser shows up in orbit over Atlantis. It turns out the ship is totally abandoned, and from a different reality. Sheppard and the team find themselves jumping from one parallel universe to the next, and encounter plenty of strange things.
The alien species is one of them -- meaning, of course, that they may not exist in our reality and may not be seen again. From the looks of the trailer, at least one of the aliens boards the Daedalus, and engages in hand-to-hand combat with Ronon.

"The Daedalus Variations" airs this Friday, August 1, at 10 p.m. (9 Central) on SCI FI Channel! The episode arrives on The Movie Network in Canada the following week, and on Sky One in the U.K. in September.
