Syfy Channel has released the first trailer for the back half of Stargate Universe‘s first season! Ten new episodes begin airing April 2 in the U.S. and Canada. Watch it now at Syfy.com, or below.
Titled “The Ride,” the trailer appears to include quick shots from several episodes throughout the back half of Season One, including a much-awaited space battle and the return of Michael Shanks as Daniel Jackson. (He’ll appear in “Human” and “Subversion.”)
According to producer Joseph Mallozzi, MGM will also release their own trailer in the near future.
Stargate Universe returns with “Space” on Friday, April 2.
(Thanks to Tanith for the tip!)
Daniel Jackson running from something looks pretty cool. Oh and the SGU characters were there too…

WHO and WHY?
Also, where? How does Rush get back on the ship? :
That’s the 64 thousand dollar question, isn’t it?
@Chris1 and frellwit
There was a huge debate about that episode (and the scene) you didn’t look as spoilers I assume.
I wont ruin it, but it was one of the controversies (well supposed) before the show aired.
i’m excited… to say the least.
As for me, I’ll wait and see.
Great trailer. April can’t come fast enough.
can´t wait till April^^
Oh my goooood. I cannot wait!
Well thay managed to make the trailer look kinda exciting. Good for them. I for one am hoping the episodes themselves will turn out to be much more exciting than this trailer by itself. I’m conservatively positive about the second half of the season. Trailers have a habit of portraying parts of some of the best available scenes within a very short timeframe making them look good. The first half of the season looked rather good upfront but turned out to be much less interesting than I anticipated. Here’s someone hoping the second half will make up for the lack… Read more »
Wow! I am really, really excited for the second have of the season! Can’t wait!
There is no need to watch the second half of the season now as you have already seen all the good bits that there will be.
Nobody wants to hear your Sarcastic comment
I miss SGA. I might watch some but it doesn’t excite me like the franchise use to for years. Oh well I must just be old. :(
OMG!!!!! you mean there is a space battle!!!!!!!!! what is it? sand attacking them :-) come on sgu!
Your not old. SGU is Days of our lives and has 3 min action at the end. i miss the old sga and sg1 theme and story writing with the Gould/system lords and asguards…man oh man….
One of the members on GW saw the episode space and said it was amazing and back to classic stargate. I’m still on the fence but maybe this episode with the rest of the second half will make my mind up.
@beardrewz Read the synopsis for the episode :)
@ScoobyDoo Yea a few people I follow on Twitter who have seen it all say the same thing: That there’s action & that it kicks off with a bang.
It’s fair to say I am not a fan of SGU. I have my negative comments, but I keep watching, hoping that there will be something in the writing that will get me hooked (yeah the ship and idea is cool but something is missing for me).
With that said, this trailer is giving me hope! I’ll just keep my fingers crossed until the new episodes air.
Now if all that action is in one show, then I can’t wait for the next half of the season to begin. If it’s spread out over the remaining episodes, then like someone else said “Yawn…”
I do hope it gets better and picks up with more aliens and space battles, less insight on the crew, less “going home” using the spheres, and definitely less sex (they cut out bare breasts in the Stargate SG-1 pilot to make it more family friendly on DVD but yet have Chloe jumping in and out of bed with everyone).
Oh well, time will tell.
I am impressed with the preview. Several others are not. Hubby was confused; pointing out that the powers that be promised a Stargate show nothing like the originals but Michael Shanks and or Richard Dean Anderson are “constantly” popping up. Not sure how I feel about SG1 regs popping up but he has a point.
Curious to see if the baby will be written into the show. Come on April!

NEIN! NEIN! NEIN! NEIN!
More RDA and Shanks, i couldn’t care less for the bunch of tossers on the Destiny.
I like that it looks like its gonna become a contender in the Stargate Franchise. This trailer looks like it has more SciFi action then all of the previous episodes of the series.I love seeing the original cast members from the previous 2 series,in the trailer u see Dr.Daniel Jackson, and Cameron Mitchell.i hope we eventually get to see Teal’c or more of General John “Jack” O’Neil,Samantha Carter,John Shepard,Ronin Dex,Tayla,Woolzy, and especially Dr. Meredith Rodney McKay.Add some of those characters and it’ll be able to contend with Stargate SG-1,and Stargate Atlantis.
@Str8Gate29
I didn’t see Mitchell at all in that trailer (there is a bit where Scott looks a little like Mitchell… but maybe I missed him)
After watching the MGM trailer I have to say that it makes me a lot more excited than this one… for one the music works better I think. But I am officially excited for the second half!
Finally it looks like things are finally starting to pick up! I am wicked excited for the 2nd half of SGU to start! And I am SO excited that Daniel Jackson will be guest starring he is me favorite!!!
