Alteran descendent, resident of the village of Ver Eger and friend of Harrid and Sallis. Fannis was a closet historian who led a group that had uncovered several artifacts on Ver Eger, items that contradicted the creation of mankind by the Ori. He kept these items as evidence for the day that they could be used to sway others against the false doctrine of their overseers.
Fannis kept his cover by continuing to carry a copy of the Book of Origin.
Long ago Fannis and his group realized that their beliefs might mean their death. He was more than willing to give aid to Daniel Jackson and Vala Mal Doran, in the bodies of his friends, when they requested that they be brought to an Ancient long-range communication device. Fortunately Fannis had unearthed and stored such a device in a crate, and led them to it so that they could return to the Milky Way.
An Ori Prior tracked them to where they had fled. Exposed, Fannis was choked to death for his heresy.
