Russian colonel in command of the Siberian Stargate program. Sarkalov maintained the program for only a matter of weeks before an aquatic alien life force traveled back through the gate and invaded the bodies of several Russian officers.
Sarkalov's men shot themselves in fear, the life forms transferring themselves to undead bodies. In an act of desperation he activated the Extreme Measures protocol, disabling the D.H.D. from the Stargate itself and releasing the nerve gas Substance 35 into the chambers.
In an attempt to escape the gas, the bodies that remained alive at the end of the killing spree returned through the Stargate to the submerged world, killing the Humans once the life forces left their bodies.
