Vonos led a small band of settlers in pressing Atlantis expedition members that they believed the group would be safer heading towards the river on foot, rather than waiting in a cave for a starship. Despite Dr. Carson Beckett, Teyla Emmagan and Ronon Dex's pleas for them to remain -- insisting that if the volcanic blast did not kill them the ash in the air would -- Vonos and his group were steadfast in their decision.
When the Orion became an option for transport, Vonos and his group lost all patience and departed on foot. They were likely the only settlers to have lost their lives when the super-volcano erupted.
