Gary grew up to become a life insurance salesman, boring Cameron Mitchell with his policies at their 20th anniversary high school reunion. Vala Mal Doran, Cameron's date, was fascinated by his pitch, and appeared to consider adopting it to suit her own mischievous ways.
Gary recognized his friend Phil during the reunion, but Phil had been replaced by a bounty hunter who copied his image. The Phil imposter induced an electric shock in Gary to get him out of his way.
