Don't Support Galactica Remake
While I enjoy GateWorld's content very much, I have to take exception to the shilling for Sci-Fi's raping of Battlestar Galactica. While I'm sure this is probably paid advertising, the show is a raping and total disrespect for the original. Think about it this way: SG-1 is reimagined, and O'Neill is now a huge-breasted, bad-ass woman, the Goa'uld are more interested in seducing SG-1 than destroying them, and the Asgard are eliminated from the story entirely.
Please do not support Battlestar Blasphemy. Please make it very clear to Sci-Fi that true fans will not stand for the outright purposeful ignoring of what the fans want -- a true continuation that is faithful to the original, not what Marketing believes we "want."

Sci-Fi isn't paying GateWorld to promote the mini-series, if that's what you mean. I'm in that "cautiously optimistic" category myself -- I grew up loving the original, and am willing to give writer / executive producer Ronald D. Moore a chance to make Grown-Up Galactica work. Some of the production design makes me really look forward to it, despite the radical changes. No bulky, robotic Cylons? Hmm ... that may be a hard one to get past.
For those who haven't seen it yet, GateWorld's special preview of Galactica is here. - Darren
Keep the WebLogs Coming Your brand new WebLog is a fantastic idea. And as I read the first entry, I got all excited. Wow! This is why I come to GateWorld; we're kept more up-to-date than anywhere else. So here's my tap on the back to you, and I hope to see this WebLog last and last. It's a great achievement.

Thanks, Wendy! I hope we'll have more Stargate crew members sign up for online journals at GateWorld. The invitation was extended to more people on the production team just this week, so hopefully we'll hear soon! In the mean time, keep checking back for the latest in executive producer Joseph Mallozzi's weblog. - Darren
More 'Lowdown' Wanted! I so enjoyed "Stargate: The Lowdown." Are there plans for more such specials? The Macguyver blooper was a stitch and I'd love to see more of that kind of thing! RDA is naturally way funny, as is Chris [Judge], and I suspect there would be a gold mine there!

Bring Back Anise The recent GateWorld poll on favorite "lesser Tok'ra" clearly showed that Anise was everyone's favorite. She was an awesome character and an interesting Tok'ra, who unfortunately was only used in three Season Four episodes. I once heard that they got rid of Anise because of the shippy, gusher types feeling "threatened." Is this true, because if it is, thats' pretty screwed up.
I hope Anise makes a return to SG-1, but even if she doesn't at least we still have the great Season Four episodes: "Upgrades," "Crossroads," and "Divide and Conquer."

Stargate's Success Hindered on Showtime I think Stargate SG-1 was done a huge disservice by being on pay cable for so long. Look what has happened to it's popularity since The Sci-Fi Channel has taken it over. It's fame has taken off like a rocket and these lovely stories are being put before all the deserving public, not just those who can pay for them. Money doesn't make popularity, availability does. Thank you, Sci-Fi. I hope Stargate goes on for a couple of years, and then not a movie for television, especialy pay cable, but for all of us.

Less Jack in Season Seven? I am writing in regard to Stargate SG-1. I hear so many rumors about the upcoming episodes for Season Seven, I was hoping you might be able to set the record straight. The first rumor was that Richard Dean Anderson was not going to be in Canada for the full Season Seven filming. Is that true? If it is, will they be airing episodes without Jack? If they are planning on having RDA missing, for how many episodes will he be absent and which ones? The reason I ask this is that he is the only reason to watch the show. The wit and humor are needed elements in the storyline.
Second, I hear there is a feature film in the works after the completion of Season Seven that will star the cast of the TV series and not the cast from the original movie. If this is true, will RDA be starring in this big screen version? Thanks for your time.
 Tracy LaSalle
As you may have read in a recent story on GateWorld, the story written for the SG-1 feature film is now going to be the 2-part Season Seven finale! And with Season Eight confirmed this week, the movie is on hold for the time being. The Powers That Be will have to wrap up the TV series, and decide on a new story to be told on the big screen. (That would feature the TV series' cast.)
As for RDA, he does have a shorter filming schedule this year -- three days per week, the rumor is. But the production team is doing a great job juggling the multiple filming units so that we won't miss him too much. There may be an episode toward the end of the season that is completely Jack-less, but so far we haven't heard of any at all! - Darren
