Owner of Sol's Diner, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Sal bought the establishment after Sol could no longer manage. Sal was struggling to maintain rent on the restaurant, a mortgage, a wife, three kids (and a shih tzu with a recurring gastro-intestinal condition).

However, a humanitarian at heart, he took Vala Mal Doran into his care as a waitress when he learned she had become stricken with amnesia. She remained employed by him for several weeks. In the last week, she single-handedly prevented a two-man robbery of his business, prompting Detective Ryan to take her down to his police station to file a report.

Shortly afterward Vala returned into the hands of the Air Force, by way of a skirmish with The Trust.
