Friesen had studied Ha'tak layouts and was fairly familiar with the design, though he carried around a map to be certain. Disregarding Jack O'Neill's orders, he went to the shield generator to study Anubis's technology, which was more advanced than anything the team had yet seen. There, he discovered three of Anubis's ninja Jaffa in hiding, who killed him.
