Originally settled by transplanted humans, Nassya was attacked by the Goa'uld System Lords, most likely Cronus, attempting to locate Jolinar of Malkshur, a Tok'ra hiding within a Nassyan man. SG-1 and several other units successfully evacuated 237 inhabitants in the midst of the attack and relocated them, hopefully preventing them from further Goa'uld oppression.

The Nassyans lived just beyond the Stargate in a small village on the border of a generous water source. They were easily located from orbit, as at least two death gliders made an air-to-surface bombardment during the evacuation, killing many of the inhabitants and injuring countless others.
