Replicator Weir

Replicator created by the Asurans – on her recounting, by unleashing the nanites inside the real Elizabeth Weir after she was captured and allowing them to replicate freely. Dr. Weir was effectively converted from a biological life form into a fully artificial Replicator, and integrated into the population of Asuras]]. But, she claims, Elizabeth's original consciousness remained.

She was recognized by the survivors of Niam's group, whose goal is ascension from their Replicator bodies to a higher plane of existence. Only a few members of this group survived Oberoth's efforts to root out and reprogram them. Elizabeth became their leader, keeping their existence secret until the human-Wraith alliance won their war against the Replicators and destroyed their planet.

This allowed Replicator Weir and her new allies to begin their work without having to look over the shoulders, in fear of discovery by Oberoth. They landed their ship on the surface of a planet, where Elizabeth did her best to teach the Replicators what she knew about ascension. This ultimately did not work, and another of the Asuran survivors – Koracen – instead enacted a plan to reach ascension artificially.

Along with Koracen and seven others, Elizabeth's Replicator body was destroyed and her conscious mind digitized and uploaded to subspace. But this was not true ascension, and the group found their new reality intolerable. They traveled the Pegasus Galaxy seeking new bodies.

Weir knew that they mind find help in the city of Atlantis, where the computer systems could hold their conscious minds. She went ahead of the others, hitching a ride on a Puddle Jumper before entering the city's computer. From there she used the original technology that the Ancients had used to make the first Replicators to create herself a new body.

Because she was in a hurry, attempting to complete her new body before her old friends stopped her, Replicator Weir used the most recent pattern stored in the device: Fran, the "Friendly Replicator Android" created at the end of the war. She attempted to convince the Atlantis expedition members that she is not a copy but the real Elizabeth.

At the same time, with a new allegiance to her Asuran kin, she signaled the others to come to Atlantis and use the device to build new bodies. Her hope was to be allowed time and space to then engineer flesh-and-blood bodies (as Replicator Keller and Replicator Lorne had done), which would finally put ascension within their reach.

When Koracen proved a real danger to Atlantis, intent on keeping his Replicator body and escaping the city. With this realization Replicator Weir killed Koracen, and agreed to betray the other Replicators. She led them through the Stargate not to a new home but a space gate, where she and the other Replicators have been left to drift for the remainder of their existence.
