Major, commander of SG-9. Kovacek met with the governing body of the Taldur to negotiate the release of SG-1, accompanying General Hammond back to the planet after he had established an open dialogue. He served as a go-between with the Taldur and Hammond until the talks ceased, albeit unsuccessfully releasing SG-1 from the prison world Hadante (They later freed themselves).
