Major, commander of SG-5. Altman is experienced with field equipment and likely has at least a knowledgeable overview of Ancient technology.
Altman was attacked by the genetically-engineered Khalek while trying to reconfigure an Ancient brain scanner. Khalek used his psycho-kinetic abilities to destroy a computer monitor, injuring the Major. He later recovered.
