Known as "Optrica" by the Optricans and "Bedrosia" by the Bedrosians, P2X-416 is an ideal deciduous planet with large formations of rock and blue skies. It is believed the Goa'uld Nefertum brought the Humans to Bedrosia.
The majority of Bedrosians still follow the Book of Nefertum's teachings which declare their origins on Bedrosia, while the Optricans have taken on the belief that life originated elsewhere and humans were transported via a mystical portal.
When the Bedrosian Nyan discovered the Stargate buried inside a massive rock formation, he was only excited at the discovery and was looking forward to reaping the results. However, his government believed the great ring to be a ploy from the Optricans and isolated the region, taking the arriving Earth team captive for interrogation as Optrican spies.
