BlueBrixx is keeping the gate spinning with its new Stargate license. The German brick toy manufacturer has announced plans for a very special holiday package, along with confirmation that the company is working on Stargate Universe sets for the future.
BlueBrixx will release a Stargate Advent calendar for the holiday season, with 24 days of buildable pieces and character figures that together will create iconic moments from Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis. The company showed off eleven prototype pieces (not final colors!) in a 30-minute video on Saturday, which you can watch below.
As summarized by our friends at the German fan site Stargate-Project.de, the scenes covered by the Advent calendar will include:
Stargate SG-1
- Jack O’Neill golfing through the Stargate (“Window of Opportunity”)
- The hologram projector from the meeting hall on Heliopolis, including the scripts of the four great races inscribed on the wall (“The Torment of Tantalus”)
- The Nox healing ritual, with three figures including Anteaus (“The Nox”)
- An ascended Daniel Jackson’s confrontation with Anubis (“Full Circle”)
- Jack in an EVA suit delivering a M.A.L.P. bomb to an asteroid (“Fail Safe”)
- The Stargate prop from the spoof TV show Wormhole X-Treme!, including Martin Lloyd (“Wormhole X-Treme!”)
Stargate Atlantis
- Sheppard and Dr. Beckett with the Ancient control chair (“Rising”)
- The Genii prison cell with John Sheppard and Todd the Wraith (“Common Ground”)
- A Z.P.M. station on the Asuran homeworld, with Oberoth (“Lifeline”)
- An Atlantis grounding station with the Genii Acastus Kolya
BlueBrixx previously released an Advent calendar of buildable sets for Star Trek, allowing fans to build a fleet of tiny ships throughout the holiday season. The video hosts noted that the Advent calendar gives them a chance to do these smaller vignettes that might not justify a full-fledged set of their own (such as a dingy Genii prison).
Previously released sets in the new Stargate line include a range of ships and character “Brick Buddies,” as well as a Milky Way Stargate chevron. A buildable Zero Point Module and a complete Stargate Command play set, complete with SG-1 mini-figures, has also been showcased but not yet released.
Visit BlueBrixx on Facebook or Instagram to see more prototype photos, and keep your browser locked on GateWorld for more on this fun new set!
How does one buy their sets in the US?
BlueBrixx sells on their Web site, though overseas shipping isn’t cheap. (Outside of Europe you might consider saving up and getting more than one thing at a time.)
FYI on a related product note, Master Replicas are apparently putting a Stargate model on sale tomorrow. You might want to check their Twitter. Their comms on it haven’t been great.
Thanks, Damien! I’m working on a story on this now and just got some goodies to share from Master Replicas.
I’m just waiting for a “A Stargate series Is In The Works”
